Early Life and Background
Revd. (Mrs.) Cecilia Olayinka Omomukuyo was born on May 11, 1951, into the family of Chief Joseph Akinbobola and Madam Matilda Akinbobola of Idanre, Ondo State. She was raised with strong values, a deep spiritual foundation, and a commitment to education and service that would define her life.
Education
Revd. (Mrs.) Cecilia Olayinka Omomukuyo began her education at Saint Paul’s Primary School, Idanre, from 1958 to 1964. She proceeded to Olofin Anglican Grammar School, Idanre, where she studied from 1968 to 1972.
Her passion for learning continued well into adulthood. She earned a Certificate in Secretarial Studies from the Staff Development Centre, Abeokuta (1978–1979), followed by a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Secretarial Studies from United Christian Secretarial College, Apapa, Lagos (1982–1984).
Ministry and Spiritual Development
Revd. (Mrs.) Cecilia Olayinka Omomukuyo responded to God’s call with wholehearted devotion, ministering alongside her husband and deepening her theological training to better serve the body of Christ.
Her spiritual education included:
* Gethsemane Prayer School – 1997.
* Redeemed Christian Bible College – 1999, where she earned a Diploma in Theology and was subsequently ordained as a Reverend.
* Mountain of Fire and Miracles School of Deliverance – Advanced Deliverance Course, 2009.
Her ministry impact was deeply felt in the then Holy Ghost Anointed Church and Christ Anointed Kingdom International Church (CAKIC), Lagos.
Career and Public Service
Revd. (Mrs.) Cecilia Olayinka Omomukuyo led a distinguished career in both public service and ministry. She worked diligently in various federal establishments, including:
* Federal Ministry of Works, Lagos (1974–1980).
* Federal Housing Authority, Festac Town, Lagos (1980–1988).
* Nigeria Re-Insurance Corporation, Marina, Lagos (1989–2000), where she voluntarily retired to fully commit herself to ministry and community service.
Throughout her career, she was known for her diligence and integrity.
Educational Leadership
Following her retirement, Revd. (Mrs.) Cecilia Olayinka Omomukuyo, together with her husband, Revd. Dr. Benson Ilesanmi Omomukuyo, founded Capital Model City Academy, a government-approved institution in Satellite Town, Lagos, offering quality education at the Nursery, Primary, and College levels. Passionate about shaping the minds and characters of young people, she served as Proprietress and remained actively involved in the school’s administration until her final days.
Awards and Recognition
In recognition of her selfless service and contributions to the progress and development of her hometown, Idanre Kingdom, Revd. (Mrs.) Cecilia Olayinka Omomukuyo was honored in November 2010 alongside her husband by His Royal Highness, Oba Fredrick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin IV, the Owa of Idanre.
Family Life
Revd. (Mrs.) Cecilia Olayinka Omomukuyo married her beloved husband, Revd. Dr. Benson Ilesanmi Omomukuyo, on April 5, 1980. Their union was a model of love, friendship, and shared vision for God’s kingdom. Together, they raised a beautiful family, blessed with four accomplished children, two sons and two daughters, who reflect their parents’ godly values and commitment to excellence.
She was also a grandmother, and in addition to her biological children, she was a spiritual mother to many, with sons and daughters in the faith spread across Nigeria and beyond.
Legacy
Revd. (Mrs.) Cecilia Olayinka Omomukuyo was a woman of deep faith, noble character, and unwavering dedication to God and humanity. Her impact as a mother, teacher, mentor, and spiritual leader continues to live on in the countless lives she touched.
